at the beginning of the school year, and the beginning of ben's journey in preschool at tcps (tennessee christian preparatory school), ben was asking craig and i why it was getting dark outside. we were driving down the road and the sun was setting, so it was a legitmate question coming from our, then two year old, son. i explained to him that the sun was setting and when the sun goes away, so does the light. and then came the typical two year old response..."but why??" so after the cat and mouse game of "why," i finally ended with "because God said so." ben got quiet and a few moments later, in his angelic almost whispering voice, we hear him in the backseat saying something that was beautiful music in our ears: "God created the heavens and the earth." it was so precious. the first thing craig said was, "$470 a month is totally worth that!" hahaha, and he was right. ben has learned so much at school this year. not only has he obtained things to help him prepare for his future as a lifelong learner, he has also learned some bible verses and bible songs. ben may not always go to a private christian school, but for now it's really working out well and we feel it has been the best thing for him.
and today is your lucky day! i have a short video here to introduce you to the amazing vocal sounds of mr. ben sluder. i am sure his music teacher at tcps, ms. jessica, taught him this song. i've sang it to him some, but not enough for him to know it like this. few things make my heart happier than to hear this little man sing. how can anyone not smile after this??
