we will bring praise.

when we lost our baby, my good friend, abby, gave me a CD with some new praise and worship songs on it. (she is such a thoughtful friend!!) on this CD was "desert song", by hillsong. abby recently suggested that i download this video that goes with this song that has an interview at the beginning with one of the girls who sings lead vocals, jill mccloghry, on this track . it's a great story and one i can relate to. the lyrics are so powerful and faith revealing.

i have found that the best earthly comfort i have received since our loss, are stories from others about similar things. it's just good to know that things like this can happen to anyone. no one is exempt. craig and i continually praise God for the strength He has given us and we pray that He will continue to refine us, just like the song says. we always have a reason to worship. always.

i also have posted the lyrics because, to me, they are so inspirational.

Verse 1:
This is my prayer in the desert
And all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

Verse 2:
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames

Chorus:
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

Verse 3:
And this is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

Bridge:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

Verse 4:
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow

  1. I love this song. We just did it for the first time on Sunday. I didn't know the story behind it...That's amazing. I am so sorry for your loss...you will definitely be in my prayers.
