when we moved into this house, i, for whatever reason, had a hard time decorating. i think it was because this house is double the size of our last one and it was all just a bit overwhelming. but, little by little, i've done what i could- financially and mentally. how do you eat an elephant? one bite at a time. right, mom?
so, here is my first and best accomplishment: my dressing room!! i have wanted a room like this for a very long time. it is actually a dressing/craft/running/all things lindsay room. with a house full of boys and their stuff, i needed a space all to my own. a space where i can:
-just sit and enjoy the pretty color of the walls (turquoise mist, to be exact)
-feel at peace while getting ready in the morning with all my essentials in one spot
-get out a craft or sewing project and just leave the mess if i don't have time to finish
-keep all craft and sewing stuff stored together....somehow the inventory just gets more extensive as time goes on...
-keep all my running gear together ready for a moment's notice run
-have a door that locks if i need a break from a certain nosey 5 year old :)
-hide christmas and birthday presents
-keep my calendar
-hang things that are encouragements to me as a busy full-time working mom of 2 (ok, let's be honest...3...4, if you count the dog)
-post my running accomplishments
-etc.
so, here she is! i <3 her. maybe she'll inspire you to do something just for you this new year. you deserve it, i'm certain of that.
the table you see below is a double sided drop leaf table that opens to a PERFECT craft table! it's my mom's and she's letting me use it. it's awesome!

LOVE this room! It *will* be so nice to have your own space, and what a great idea to have a "dressing room"! I even noticed the place that looked like where you might lay out your clothes for the next day? How great! I have always thought about making a goals/dream board, and you just inspired me to do just that. Thanks Lindsay!
